Fine wood furniture
Bill grew up in a home that had several original Shaker pieces of cherry, such as a drop leaf dining table, two chest of drawers, and a large cupboard. He learned basic tool use and woodworking skills from his father. After college, he worked with a cabinet maker who helped him refine his skills and technique. He soon began to get commissions for large case goods such as wall units and libraries as well as secretaries, dining tables and chairs and some reproductions. Private commissions are scattered from Texas to Florida, suburban Chicago and as close as Bloomington and Nashville. He most enjoys working in walnut, maple, cherry and mahogany.
