The Brown County Studio and Garden Tour is a relaxing, self-guided tour held the last weekend in June. It is designed to showcase two of our greatest assets: the natural, quiet beauty of Brown County and the talents of our creative residents who continue the cultural heritage of our artistic community, "The Art Colony of the Midwest."

Because of interest in the June tour, a select group of artisans will open their studios to the public for the entire month of October. You will be able to see demonstrations, meet the artists in a more relaxed atmosphere and have an opportunity to purchase fine arts and crafts. This educational part of the tour is a delight for young and old, while collectors will relish the selection of new work available especially for this occasion and just in time for Christmas shopping.

This self-guided tour is free. A detailed map will help you find your way through the rolling hills. Join us in October and experience the wealth of natural autumn beauty and the vast talents of the creative and unique people that call Brown County their home.
The Back Roads tour takes place for the entire month of October, but some studios may have "black-out dates" so check the individual studio pages. Contact information for each artist is given.

The Brown County Studio Tour organization thanks the Indiana Artisan Development Project
for their efforts to support and promote Hoosier artisans and to raise awareness of locally-crafted products.
Launched in 2008, the Indiana Artisan program is a not-for-profit, originally sponsored by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Indiana Arts Commission and Indiana State Department of Agriculture. It enhances Indiana's entrepreneurial culture by supporting small businesses, promoting artisanal products and attracting visitors to our state.
For more information, email Eric Freeman, Artisan Development Project Manager.
