Functional and decorative pottery
in terra cotta and stoneware
Judy produces
individually handmade terra cotta and stoneware functional pottery for use
in your home. She also creates one-of-a-kind decorative pieces and sawdust fired
pots. Her Brown County Woodsmen can be seen among the perennial and annual
gardens and on the trail areas of her studio and home. Even though many
pieces may appear similar, they each have their own unique character.
Judy spent
three years studying ceramics in Sydney, Australia, in addition to her
previous schooling in the United States. Her work was displayed at several
ceramics exhibitions in the Sydney area as well as having photos of her work
published in an Australia-wide ceramics magazine.
Oak Grove
Studio with gallery is located on 26 acres of beautiful Brown County
woodlands. Both the studio and home were self-built by the artist and her
husband. The log-style home next to the studio, known as
Deer Trail
Inn Homestay, provides a combined
overnight and studio experience.
The studio is open 10 - 5, Monday - Saturday
and 1-5 Sunday, March through December.
Artist Statement:
I create each
piece for the recipient. As I produce a piece, I strive to know the person
who will receive it. I hope they will know when they hold the piece they
choose to buy or receive, it is a gift made just for them.
Enjoy our
perennial and annual gardens. Walk up the drive and through the vegetable
and herb garden. Then make your way to the stone steps and wander down the
trail to the dam for a close up view of the pond.
Don’t forget to feed the
fish.
