Watercolor,
Ceramics & Mixed Media
I have been pursuing my
Masters degree in Art Therapy for the last few years. Until then, I painted
in watercolors using the traditional style to acquire awards and prestigious
galleries. I also taught workshops and classes in Brown, Bartholomew,
Jackson, & Monroe counties. I have always enjoyed teaching others about art
and found great success in sharing my skills.
I discovered myself
wanting to do more with my art and returned to school to finish my education
and embraced art therapy.
As I began to learn
more about my degree, I found myself looking at art in a different approach.
All my skills did not seem to provide others with the ability to learn about
themselves. With art therapy, I discovered a way to give others insight and
self-awareness through the process of creating images. Along with this, I
discovered my art was moving in other directions. I found myself wanting to
do more work in different mediums as self-discovery. While I still enjoy
doing projects in watercolor, I love to do art in a variety of media as
expression.
I have a back to
nature habitat that uses natural elements to entice wildlife to visit. I
also have a traditional herb garden. I am working on a bog between our
ponds, which has waterlillies, and other water plants.
