Sandy Taylor received a degree from Purdue University in Fine Arts and French. While at Purdue, she studied at the University of Strasbourg, France. She subsequently spent 25 years in the corporate world, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana University. Sandy now happily creates beautiful and inspirational stained and etched glass and calligraphy art in Brown County, Indiana and in Venice, Florida.

Sandy works in the traditional copper foil technique. Unique to her art is the inclusion of calligraphy as a design element in the finished piece. Glass etching is a recent and versatile addition to her repertoire. Doing business as Godly Glass, her work is primarily Christian-themed, and ten percent of each sale is donated to Christian causes.

Artist's Statement

“Since retiring from my job, I have realized two lifelong dreams--to be a full-time artist and to live in Brown County. My desire is to glorify God and represent the beauty of His creation. Glass is a colorful medium which combines structural and aesthetic elements that I enjoy. I love to work with people to create a piece of art to complement their home’s décor.”

While at the Godly Glass studio, be sure to visit the sun-dappled fern ravine and the pond-side perennial garden and meditation bench. There's also a path around the pond for the more adventuresome visitors.

The Godly Glass studio is located in the woods of northern Brown County,
and is open by appointment only, April through October.

To get there, take State Road 45 west from State Road 135in Bean Blossom (3.5 miles). At the western edge of Helmsburg, turn north onto Lick Creek Road. Go one mile, and turn west into the second driveway where there are two together (5892).
